Q: What is the average length of stay in your program?
A: Our average length of stay is approximately twelve months. Program length is determined by individual progress.
Q: What are the living accommodations like?
A: Our ranch campus is a serene equestrian ranch on 60 acres with stables, corrals, and pastures for the horses. Campus buildings include a main lodge and three student houses surrounding a swimming pool and central patio area. The Ranch is comfortable and well-appointed, and has the feel of a home, not a program. Our apartments are part of a brand new apartment complex with walking paths, shade trees, waterworks, and a network of swimming pools.
Q: What is the policy regarding confidentiality?
A: All information about your daughter is completely confidential.
Q: What are some of the common issues young women at Fulshear have struggled with?
A: The most common problems we treat at Fulshear are depression, opposition-defiance, poor school performance, failing relationships at home, borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, and substance abuse. Though we work expertly with these and other issues, our focus is on each young woman's strengths and potential, rather than on her pathology.
Q: How much therapy does Fulshear offer?
A: We provide weekly individual and family therapy, and offer multiple groups each week as well as AA and NA meetings. We offer equine therapy on a weekly basis. The treatment your daughter receives is tailored to her specific psychotherapeutic needs.
Q: How much contact may I have with my daughter?
A: Regular communication includes a weekly phone call (may be more frequent if indicated by therapist) and emails 2 times per week.
Q: What are the qualifications of your clinical staff?
A: We hire licensed master's and Ph.D. level clinicians with a high and proven degree of clinical expertise and extensive experience working with young women.
Q: Can I talk to parents who have placed their daughters at Fulshear? Can I talk to graduates?
A: Yes. We encourage you to speak with parents who have placed their daughters in our program, and with graduates of Fulshear. Many parents and graduates are excited to share their experience with you. Contact Shay or Lindsay at
