Our Philosophy – Empowerment

The Fulshear Ranch Academy is a holistically oriented therapeutic community, where young women learn about themselves and their vast potential. It is a place that teaches the necessary life skills to be able to put to use the self insight gained, and thus utilize that vast potential.

We believe in a strengths-based model of working with young women, helping them to find and recognize their own amazing potential, and helping them to find the personal empowerment necessary to go forward on their path towards greatness.

We trust that an enriched therapeutic environment, guided participation, and constructive mentorship will encourage our young women to find the strength to set boundaries, take responsibility, and develop the self respect needed to become healthy, productive members of society.

We believe individuals learn most efficiently when their daily experiences help them understand the importance of competence, quality, and intention. Our staff encourages all of our young women to immerse themselves and engage in the active pursuit of gaining knowledge and insight regardless of the task set in front of them. We create an environment that promotes empowerment, a place where young women come to recognize that they can do anything if they only set their minds to it.

Our Mission

The mission of the Fulshear Ranch Academy is to create a holistic, therapeutic learning community where young women struggling with body image and boundary setting issues, addictions, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, low self-esteem, depression, and school difficulties can find healing for their minds, bodies, and spirits.

Our Vision

Our vision is to cultivate and nurture a community of young women who believe in themselves and their vast potential to be whatever they desire, and have learned the skills necessary to take the next step towards becoming tomorrow’s leaders.

Family Component

At FRA we are dedicated to help the family navigate through the life changes experienced with a young woman preparing to leave the home. We understand that this phase in the lives of the parents and young adult can be stressful and difficult. It is our desire to make this transition as smooth as possible to enable all parties to have a positive experience.

To aid in this transition we at FRA provide a full orientation for the family to see all the components of the program. It is necessary that there is a mutual buy-in by all, so the program can provide the needed foundation for success. We also provide communication between all parties to aid in this difficult transition along with counseling for parents and the young adult. Finally, as the student prepares to graduate the program there is closure provided by the program to put a successful end to the intervention.
